Hey Family,
Well this picture is from my Mountain LTE (Life Transforming Event). We have… I think 5 LTEs. But I am not sure. But anyway this was my first of many. I really enjoyed climbing the mountain. It was beautiful. I sent you guys all my pictures of it from Walmart. But I am not going to write all about that.
So I have a new thing. I don’t like running. It is truly hard for me to run long distance-HOWEVER, I have decided to run until I enjoy it. So I have chosen (meaning its not required because we only have that on Mondays) to run for at least 20 min for the past 3 days, and I still don’t like it. But I am pressing forward till I do.
I am really enjoying my classes they teach here. Particularly my “World View” class, its taught by David Hauz. I would STRONGLY recommend you guys all read the book I have to read for it. Its call “How Now Shall We Live?” I don’t remember who wrote it, but I can get the author if you like. I have only read 7 chapters so far, but it has so much information in it. It has talked about defending Christianity vs. Naturalism and why Naturalism DOES NOT WORK. It has talked about how society has different World Views and why we, as people who believe that Christ is the only way to God, cannot support their views. Its not a hateful book toward those with different WV, it does not-in anyway- have any negative tone. I really enjoy learning from it. And I really think that Mom and Dad should at least read it.
I will hopefully be able to write more often, however I would not depend on it. I know I have a lot of homework coming.
I love you all. I miss you all,
Michelle
Michelle,
ReplyDeleteI am super impressed at your goal to run until you enjoy running. One thing that helps is to remember that I don't have to be perfect at it, but I can just do a small amount at a time.
The hike sounds fun. It's always nice to get outside and be a part of the beautiful world. Keep enjoying that good weather. The snow in Utah is always cold.
I'll try to find the book you mentioned. It sounds like a great read. My favorite thing about education is the greater understanding of the world and other people's viewpoints. Enjoy learning because it is one of the greatest pleasures in life (especially after you get out of school and go to work all the time).
Thanks for your posts. We love you and Miss you.
