Hey Family!

So last weekend we had the UPG (Unreached People Group) LTE and it was very interesting. What happens is half the internship pretends they are Tribal people (Unreached People), and half pretend they are missionaries. The HA tried to make it real life, so all the 2 years+ people at the HA were the Government facilitating us. The Government did not want any of the missionaries preaching the gospel to the Tribal people so if we had our bibles, or any Christian reading material (I did) we went to “jail” (the bathrooms) and sat in a shower stall in the dark for a while and then got integrated about why we had it with us.

The tribal people had a different language (that they had to make up) so us missionaries had to learn it. It was kind of hard to understand but after a few hours we understood it. The language was putting a “she” before every syllable. Example: She-I, she-am, she-here, she-to, she-get, she-to, she-know, she-you. She-won-She-der-She-Ful. I really picked it up after a few hours of talking it, but some of my people that were in my group didn’t really get it.

We slept outside in a tent for one night; I wore all the clothes I had so I was warm. But the boys that were in my group did not have a tent, so they were freezing! I kind of felt a little bad. We ate PB&J for lunch and dinner, and I had Nutra-Grain Bars for breakfast (I did not like the bran muffins they gave us).

Overall I enjoyed it. I did not like the food, but I did enjoy trying to minister in the language. It was very awesome to me.

Today, we had the Endurance LTE. This is the Tyler 10k race. It was so so so cold outside. So cold, I ran with my sweatshirt the whole time. We ran through the neighborhoods, they were so beautiful. Green everywhere, and flowers. It was very enjoyable run-except for the running part. It was so long! We ran 6 miles this past Monday, and I don’t remember each mile being so long. When I got to the mile 3 marker, I though I had already ran 4+ miles. Not a good realization for me. But I was happy with how I ran, because I did not stop-which was my goal. I ran it in 1 hour and 3 min. I also wanted to brake an hour, but maybe next time.

When I got back to campus I took a shower and with in a few min the water went ice! The hot water gets turned off at 11:30 every day, and I forgot! Oh my goodness it was cold. But after my shower I took a 4 hour nap, it was nice. But my legs are still tired. They are going to play the move Cool Running’s later for us, its going to be nice to just relax.

I have a lot of homework to do this week; I hope that I use my time wisely so I can get some sleep. Wish me luck!

Love you guys!
